The El Paso County Board of County Commissioners has selected three new members for the Highway Advisory Commission. Dr. James Null will represent District 5, Brian Wess – District 2 and Henry “Cap” Proal – District 4.Null is a professor at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and has served on various boards in the region, including the Colorado Springs City Council.Wess is currently employed as a broker associate for Metro Brokers. He also is the vice chair of the city of Colorado Springs’ Historic Preservation Board and a member of the Pikes Peak Association of Realtors’ government affairs committee.Proal has been involved in the real estate industry for the past 43 years. He was an exclusive agent and project manager for the Fountain Valley Ranch development. Proal also has been on the Security Water and Sanitation District board for 15-plus years and currently serves as president.Highway advisory members consider highway and road needs throughout the county and assist with establishing construction priorities and corresponding budget for the Department of Transportation’s annual project plan. The committee meets the third Tuesday each month at 3460 N. Marksheffel Rd. at 9 a.m.
