Classical Academy breaks ground on new wing

On Oct. 6, students, educators and district leaders from Falcon School District 49 held a ground-breaking ceremony for the new Early Education wing of the Rocky Mountain Classical Academy. RMCA is a charter school in D 49, located at 4620 Antelope Ridge Drive in Colorado Springs.The addition will hold the preschool and kindergarten classes, and will include an onsite day care for the children of RMCA staff members. Additionally, the new rooftop for the Early Education wing will feature a garden for alternative educational opportunities.Christianna Fogler, RMCA headmaster, said, ìAs we dedicate this new wing, we must take pride in RMCAís achievements, must savor the memories and hope for the future, and must give all those who contributed to this great moment thanks for the school they helped create.î ìI am so excited for my son to start the classical curriculum so early,î said Angel Giver, second grade teacher at RMCA whose son will attend preschool there. ìI have a baby, too, so having day care onsite will make being a mom and teacher easier.îThe new wing is scheduled for completion by the 2018-2019 school year.RMCA: Abby Vasquez (left) and JD Hoffman help break ground at the new RMCA Early Education wing.
