Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m., the Colorado Springs City Council will vote on whether to purchase an additional 74 acres for the Corral Bluffs Open Space. If approved, the purchase will be funded by the portion of sales tax revenue already allocated to open space preservation, said Jeff Cahill, a spokesperson for the Corral Bluffs Alliance.Acquiring these 74 acres is the only way to obtain access to the open space from the bluff’s upper rim. It will also provide the most direct route to the open space from Falcon, Cahill said.Falcon residents can support the purchase by attending the meeting at City Council Chambers, 107 N. Nevada Avenue, Suite 325, in Colorado Springs, or by contacting Mayor Lionel Rivera and council members by e-mail or phone. See www.springsgov.com/Page.aspx?NavID=255 for contact information.
