Ciao Bella restaurant has been open for only a month, but on a Tuesday afternoon it appears that Falcon’s residents have discovered it as a steady stream of customers arrived for an authentic Italian meal by the Casimiro family.”It’s been non-stop,” said Gina Casimiro, who was taking a short break from the kitchen to interview with the NFH. She had been making their special pomodoro sauce.It’s all about family for the Casimiros. Gina and Mike Casimiro and their children, Joey and Gina, are all part of the new family business. “We moved here from New York to be with my pregnant daughter, and then this opportunity came along, so we said let’s go for it. Joey always wanted his own pizzeria.”Ciao Bella is the family’s first restaurant business. Gina Casimiro was a pediatric nurse and Mike Casimiro still works in construction. Joey Casimiro has been cooking pizzas for 10 years.”I’ve turned into my grandma,” Gina Casimiro said, as she looked at her apron. She said she’s been cooking since she was a little girl watching her grandmother in the kitchen. “Everything is homemade,” Casimiro said. “Nothing comes out of a can here. Nothing is prepackaged. I make my pomodoro sauce with real Italian tomatoes. We make our own mozzarella.”Ciao Bella restaurant is split into two sides: one serves pizza and calzones for lunch, the other side is for fine dining. The menu is full of nods to the Casimiros’ New York Italian roots, with pizzas like the Bada Bing, the Goodfellas, the Papa Mike and the Uncle Joey. For fine dining, there are authentic Italian pasta dishes and desserts, all made from scratch.”Everybody just loves the meatballs, the lasagna, the Alfredo sauce,” Casimiro said. “And the pomodoro sauce, of course.”A waiter called out to Casimiro – a customer from Italy wanted to thank her for the meal. “We get that all the time,” she said. “It’s why I do it.”
