Church options rise up in Falcon

A new church is opening its doors for the first time March 24, with 10:30 a.m. services at Bennet Ranch Elementary School in Falcon. Hills Christian Church is part of the Core Christian Community, which includes Meridian Point Church in Falcon. The two churches will work together and share staff; Meridian Point is also financially helping the new church get established. Eventually, the two will share finances, said Dave Laubscher, the new pastor of Hills Christian. Many people like new churches because it gives them an opportunity to be part of a new group, where ìrelationships havenít been formed,î Laubscher said. He moved to Colorado from California.ìOur vision for the new church is to have it be the church that reaches the community for Jesus,î Laubscher said. ìWe will read the Bible together.î He said Bible readings add to a sense of community. The pastor has been married for 10 years and has four children ó ages 11, 9, 5 and 3. The family lives in Falcon, and Laubscher coaches his sonís football team; he said the whole family ìloves sportsî ó and the Colorado outdoors. Contact Pastor Laubscher at dave@hillschristian.church.
