On Oct. 4, about 56 people came out to celebrate new worship facilities for Family of Faith Lutheran Church of Falcon, Colorado.Pastor Norman B. Barnette Jr. said the dedication represented the ìoffering of the church and the congregation to God,î and also served as ìthe culmination of all of the hard work and the commitment,î along with plenty of challenges.Throughout the years, the church experienced a change in pastors, a change in the name from Abiding Word to Family of Faith and a change in relocation; however, Ron Green, president, and Norman shared a common vision.ìOur vision was of a friendly, welcoming place for everyone, from farmers to business owners to military families and everyone in-between to gather Ö the type of congregation that reaches out to one another Ö that offers a close-knit community feel that people just want to be a part of,î Norman said.Originally part of the planning process to identify strengths and weaknesses and turn the mission into a ministry, Norman became the first full-time pastor, at the request of the congregation. He said the dedication was like crossing a finish line, where one phase is completed and a new one is about to start. Norman said their goal now is to connect with the community. They have ideas for events in the future to help facilitate interest and growth, but for now they are relying on social media and word-of-mouth.All are invited to be part of the congregation. Services take place each Sunday with Bible class at 9 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m. Family of Faith Lutheran Church of Falcon is at 6355 E. Blaney Road.
