Chico Basin Ranch, a working cattle ranch located southeast of Colorado Springs, will host their annual ranchlands concert and camping event Saturday, July 23, with award winning singer-songwriter Corb Lund. Lund will also lead a special songwriting workshop at the ranch on July 24. Already a star in Canada, Lund has recently become more popular in the U.S. with witty and heart-felt lyrics about ranching.Chico Basin’s annual ranchlands concerts and camping support education programs, which are provided free to school children throughout the year. The programs at the ranch cover ranching, conservation and land stewardship, including ranching traditions, cowboys, cattle raising, frontier life and bird and nature studies. More than 2,000 students attend each year.School groups can stay up to several days. Workshops for adults are available; topics include horsemanship, grazing, financial planning, ranch roping, art and cattle handling.Concert tickets are $21, camping is $16 per vehicle; the Corb Lund songwriting workshop is $41.
