Falcon Fire Protection District (FFPD)

Change clocks, change batteries

On Nov. 2, the clocks change and everyone will gain an hour in the day. Why not use that ìextraî time to ensure all of the batteries are fresh in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors? The National Fire Protection Association reports that 71 percent of smoke alarms that failed to operate had missing, disconnected or dead batteries. Thatís why itís important to take the time each year to check these life-saving devices.EnergizerÆ has donated a limited supply of 9V and AA batteries to FFPD to assist residents with replacing batteries in their smoke alarms. The batteries can be picked up at Station 3 at Old Meridian Road and Highway 24. Call 719-495-4050 with any questions.
