The Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting Sept. 5. The guest speakers for the month were from the El Paso County Colorado School District 49 Falcon zone leadership team. The chamber was privileged to hear presentations from the principals of all the schools in the Falcon zone. Each principal presented on what they are most proud of regarding their schoolís accomplishments and the unique programs they offer. For example, Brian, the executive principal for Firebird Nation, showed the chamber the news channel the students create to present the schools daily news; and Cheryl DeGeorge gave a wonderful presentation on the medical programs that allow her students to gain useful experience in working in an ambulance and nursing. These examples were just a small amount of the great programs and work the principals and the Falcon zone has to offer. The chamber and I would like to give a big thank you to Cheryl DeGeorge, Falcon High School principal; Brian Smith, the Firebird Nation executive principal; Mandy Maranville, the Bennett Ranch Elementary principal; Sheehan Freeman-Todd, the Meridian Ranch principal; Michael Roth, the Falcon elementary principal; Angela Rose, the Woodmen Hills principal; and Sue Holmes, the Falcon zone leader. If you or your organization would like to be part of the Eastern Plains Chamber or you would like to be a speaker at an upcoming meeting, contact us at board@easternplainschamber.com.The Eastern plains Chamber of Commerce meets the first Wednesday of each month, from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at Grace Community Church, 9475 Grace Church View in Falcon.
