The 13th Annual Loyalty Day Parade in Calhan will be held Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m. The parade will line up at 10 a.m. This year’s theme is “Honoring Our Founding Fathers.” The parade will showcase horses, cowboys, cowgirls, tractors, fire engines, vintage cars, school bands, soldiers, veterans, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and much more. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will carry our national colors through the streets of Calhan to honor our founding fathers. After the parade, the first 300 spectators will enjoy a free sloppy joe and soft drinks courtesy of the Department of Colorado Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Clarence G. Dzuris VFW Post 5221. At 12:30 p.m. a 52″ flat screen television will be raffled. Raffle tickets are $1 or six tickets for $5.
