The Calhan Lion’s Club celebrated its 68th anniversary with an induction of a new member – Marci Lawson.This month, the club is sponsoring a flu shot clinic Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. at the exhibition building at the El Paso County fairgrounds. The club also is participating in a community Halloween party Oct. 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Swink Hall. They’ve enlisted Cub Scout Troop 14 to help with the “Fun Run in the Sun,” a program to clean up highway litter and their Kid Sight program is “rolling along,” said Carrie DeAngelo.The craft show scheduled for Nov. 3 has been canceled; booth fees will be refunded to crafters who had previously signed up for the show.The next meeting of the Calhan Lions Club will be Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Contact president Jim Nile at 749-2607 or Tom Guenther at 749-2515 for meeting place and more information about the club.
