Prior District 6-SE Gov. John ‘Nap’ Pieper of the Calhan Lions Club was recognized at the Feb. 3 Calhan Lions meeting for sponsorship of his 200th member into the Lions Clubs International. District Gov. Ron Smith presented Pieper with a certificate signed by Lions International President Al Brandel. Vice District Gov. Wayne Babros presented Pieper with a plaque commending him for this significant achievement. Pieper joined the Calhan Lions Club in May 1953 and sponsored his first member, Ed Glaser, into the Lions Club in February 1955. Glaser remains an active member of the Calhan Lions Club. Pieper sponsored his 199th member, Ed Eggleston, and 200th member, Connie Eggleston, into the club in January.
