The Small Business Development Center will hold workshops in July:
- “Common Legal Issues When Starting a Small Business,” Wednesday, July 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. This is a free seminar compliments of Ent Federal Credit Union. The workshop will cover common legal issues when starting a small business including, legal entities, business licenses and taxes, contracts and leases, marketing and advertising practices, consumer credit and debt collection, employment practices, intellectual property protection and bankruptcy. It will be held at Ent, 7350 Campus Drive, Colorado Springs.
- “Understanding Financial Statements to Manage Your Business,” Thursday, July 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $40. This session will cover balance sheets, income statements, statement of cash flow, financial projections and budget. “Basics of Bookkeeping” is recommended as a prerequisite only if you have no prior experience in bookkeeping.
- “LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter for Small Business Owners,” Tuesday, July 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $50. Learn how to leverage online professional and social networking tools to increase business, communicate with prospects and customers, increase visibility in the marketplace and grow revenue. This training has been arranged in partnership with the Colorado Springs Small Business Development Center, the Pikes Peak Library District and Your Tax Lady, Inc. featuring national professional speaker, Kevin Knebl. Over the last six years, Kevin has trained thousands of business owners and professionals on the effective business uses of various social networking platforms.
- “QuickBooks Pro-Intro,” Thursday, July 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $75. This hands-on training addresses how to manage money (sales, invoicing, paying bills and tracking expenses), reconcile accounts and use reports to understand your business (profitability and sales trends).
