Business spotlight – Premier in the shop and on the racetrack

From cruising their race cars, to cross-country road-tripping year-round, and serving the community through their full-service RV shop, life for the Breese family revolves around all-things-on-wheels.†Together, Devin Breese and his wife, Krystal Breese, are co-owners of Premier RV in Falcon.†Their business sprouted from humble beginnings in 2014 as a small automotive repair shop. ìWe used to rent just a little tiny corner in that store,î Krystal Breese said, as she gestured toward the old office on the property. ìAnd then we rented a little bay in the back of it and slowly, over time, it just grew and grew and grew.î†Devin Breese said, ìFrom working in automotive and truck repair in the past, we actually noticed a lot of need for RV repair. People were always asking us about it.î Krystal Breese added, ìYou know, we always liked to camp back then and enjoyed traveling in RVs ourselves. We figured, ëHey, thatís a really cool niche!íî So, they narrowed their scope of work to RVs.RV services became so popular that they eventually branched into three separate businesses under the umbrella of Premier RV. They now serve customers through a few main avenues: RV service, RV parts and RV sales. ìThe service center was the beginning of it all,î Krystal Breese said. ìIn 2016, we built our main service center to house all of our service bays and offices in one building. After, we transitioned into the parts store because we were working on so many units. So, in 2018, we turned the old red barn on the property into a fully stocked RV parts and accessories store to supply parts to our service center and to the community.î Devin Breese added, ìThen (the used camper, travel trailer, and RV dealership) stemmed from service, because returning service customers asked if we would sell their units. We knew their service history in depth and that allowed us to sell from a very unique perspective with knowledge of the accurate service history.î†ìWeíve worked to make Premier RV the place where people from our community and the surrounding areas can come and take care of anything they need regarding their RV in one location,î Krystal Breese said. With that goal in mind, what started as a small repair shop eight years ago has transformed into a rural mecca for RVs, with 20-plus employees serving the needs of recreational enthusiasts from Falcon and all across the country. There are some employees who have worked for Premier RV since its inception. ìA handful of them have been our friends since we were 20 years old; when we started our own business, they wanted to come along and support it,î Krystal Breese said. Her mother works in the office as the companyís head of human resources and the Breese children help out with small tasks around the office as needed. Itís all about family, she said. The beginning of Premier RV wasnít their beginning to life on wheels.†Devin Breese, a Colorado Springs native, and Krystal Breese, hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma, both moved to Falcon in high school. Growing up, Devin Breese was immersed in the four-wheel world through the automotive repair shop and fabrication business that his family owned, and later through racing cars. Krystal Breese also happened to be into racing as a teenager, noting that her grandfather built the race cars. The couple actually met in the racing scene 20 years ago. They married in 2006, and now have a son and two daughters ó all of whom race cars. The family spends much of their time traveling in their own RV to compete in races all over the country. Devin Breese has won a few Colorado state and local championships, and Krystal Breese has placed within the top-three. ìItís been a wonderful experience traveling around and watching our children grow in their racing abilities,î Krystal Breese said. †This lifestyle, which has the family traveling in their RV roughly 170 days out of the year, postures them for a unique perspective within the RV industry. ìEmpathizing with others in similar situations has allowed us to better advise our customers,î Krystal Breese said. ìWe recognize that some people use their RV to travel the states and others just want to use theirs for a few trips to local parks. Either way, we strive to make everyoneís unique experience as successful as possible by personalizing each RV repair plan to meet each customerís specific needs.î Devin Breeze added, ìThe truth is thereís no one-size-fits-all approach and thatís why we aim to personalize it.îThe coupleís business values carry over to their community. ìWeíve lived in Falcon for a really long time; our kids go to Falcon schools, and we just want to be part of the community and support the community however we can,î Krystal Breese said. They sponsor local schools, 4H and race tracks to show appreciation for their hometown of Falcon and the surrounding rural communities, she said.Their location in Falcon is part of what Devin Breese considers the success of their business. ìThe travel flow from I-70 to Colorado Springs is pretty much just along Highway 24, so thatís why (this location) works well for us,î he said. ìThat, and the proximity to larger lots of land where everyone in Falcon seems to own their own RVs.î†When the couple reflects and looks toward the future of Premier RV in Falcon, they are content with where it is now and where itís heading. ìWe aim to continue to have long-term employees, long-term customers, and that true family feel where people know they can come here and get what they need, Krystal Breese said. ìWe know how important family is and we want to assist however we can to create many wonderful memories for everyoneís RV experiences.î
