The second annual Falcon Business Expo, held July 13, also included a 5K race and Kids Dash this year. All proceeds from the 5K were donated to the High Plains Helping Hands Food Pantry.Organized by Rock Solid Chiropractic of Falcon, this yearís expo hosted 40 vendors, many of whom donated prizes for attendees. The prizes included $100 from Rock Solid, Scentsy products and a $350 home humidifier donated by Smith Mechanical.The State Bank also sponsored a childrenís coloring contest divided by age groups. Julie Edmunds from The State Bank said each winner received a $10 gift card to Sonic.With more than 60 runners participating in the 5K, Dr. Stephen Kutscher, Rock Solid owner, said he was happy with the turnout. ìBeing able to provide the support is what itís all about,î Kutscher said. Co-owner of Rock Solid, Dr. Mandi Miedema, said the Kids Dash drew about 10 participants.Rebecca Taylor, owner of First Breath CPR, said she had wanted to take part in last yearís event but was returning from her honeymoon on the day of the expo. Asked to participate this year, Taylor said it was well worth her time. ìI think itís been wonderful,î she said. ìI walked around and introduced myself to other business owners. Itís been great.îKutscher said the event went well, and he plans to hold the expo again next year and hopes that even more people will participate.
