By Larry Sparks

On Wednesday, July 3, the Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting with about two dozen local businesses represented. The meeting was held at Grace Community Church in Falcon.

The breakfast sponsor was Falcon Heating and Cooling, owned and operated by Gary Randolph and his family. This family owned business began in 1996. Their team of experienced technicians provides a wide range of services, including repair, installation and maintenance of home comfort systems. Taking pride in their work, they strive to provide customers with the highest quality service. The goal is to ensure that your home is comfortable and safe all year round.

Gary was most informative on the economic trends and regulatory actions that have increased the cost of new heating and cooling systems. He recommended service and maintenance to existing systems. He also pointed out that newer systems have a much higher efficiency rating.

The main presentation came from Kim Anderson-Grigg of Bex Security. She spoke on risk management strategies in an uncertain environment. With property crime, violent crime and vehicle thefts on the rise nationally and in Colorado, this topic was of interest to everyone. Construction-site theft is a billion-dollar industry. Even Amazon packages may not be safe. Kim shared how cameras and alarms do such an effective job in mitigating risk and deterring crime. Technological advances have also, she shared, greatly reduced the cost of such security measures.

The Eastern Plains Chamber is pleased to have educational presentations that serve so well our members and community.
