Building and real estate update

Prairie Harbor EstatesLocated at the southwest corner of the intersection of Sanborn Road and Ellicott Highway, the Prairie Harbor Estates consists of 20 single-family residential lots on 79.479 acres.Affordable Housing Specialists LLC submitted a request for an extension on the final plat recording for the Prairie Harbor Estates filing No. 1 until Nov. 12, 2015. The El Paso County Board of County Commissioners approved the request on Oct. 22.Woodmen Hills Metro District land purchase agreementLast monthsí rumor about a possible new waste water treatment plant in Falcon has been somewhat confirmed ñ vaguely, at best. The board of directors for the Woodmen Hills Metropolitan District approved a land purchase agreement for property located between Garrett Road and Spring Wagon Road, near Blaney Road.Gene Cozzolino, district water/wastewater director, said they purchased the property for $150,000, and it consists of 35 acres.ìWe are in the process of deciding between designing and upgrading an existing (water treatment) plant or planning a potential new plant,î Cozzolino said. ìThe land was purchased in case the latter takes place. If it doesnít, the land will be sold.îCozzolino said the land fit the criteria the district needed because it is located downstream from the district. ìThatís why we purchased it,î he said. ìWhether or not it ever comes to that (building a new plant) or not, we donít know. It depends on a lot of things, like the state health department.îThe decision is still some time in the future; and, if a new plant is a viable option, a long process would precede any construction, he said.
