Our Lady of the PinesThe El Paso County Board of County Commissioners approved the final release of funds for a parking lot addition at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church for $32,801.30. All work has been inspected and approved.Coyote Crossing Shooting RangeThe commissioners unanimously denied a special use permit request from Coyote Crossing Shooting Range LLC for an outdoor shooting range. The property is located at the end of Log Road, about 1 mile south of Highway 24; and is zoned agricultural.Commissioner Mark Waller said he heard concerns from residents who were opposed to the shooting range and those who were OK with it, but he based his nay vote on his opinion that the range would violate the EPC noise ordinance.Flying Horse NorthIn a 4-1 vote, with commissioner Darryl Glenn opposed, the BOCC approved a request by PRI #2 LLC to rezone 1,417 acres of land from residential rural to planned unit development, called Flying Horse North. The PUD will include six parcels, with 283 single-family residential lots, measuring at least 2.5 acres per lot, 114 acres of open space and a 199-acre 18-hole golf course. The property is located south of Hodgen Road, west of Black Forest Road and east of Highway 83.Glenn made a motion to deny the request, but that motion failed. Hisey said he voted against Glennís motion because denying the request would be infringing on the personal property rights of the land owner.
