Brandman Pony PartiesThe El Paso County Board of County Commissioners, in a 3-1 vote, approved a request by Lisa Brandman of Fairytaleís Pony Parties. Commissioner Darryl Glenn opposed and commissioner Dennis Hisey excused. Brandman requested approval of a business event center to be located on her property, which is zoned rural residential.The property is a 5-acre parcel, close to the intersection of Hardy Road and Black Squirrel Road, within the boundaries of the Black Forest Preservation Plan. Brandman has been operating the business in violation of the land development code since 2013, but board approval brings the property into compliance.Rocky Mountain Materials & Asphalt Inc.The BOCC approved a request for a purchase order to Rocky Mountain Materials & Asphalt, Inc. to perform road maintenance work on Golden Street in Calhan at a cost totaling $30,309.25.Meridian RanchThe EPC planning commission unanimously approved both the planned unit development plan for Filing 9 in Meridian Ranch, as well as the final plat for that PUD. The 61.27-acre PUD includes the preliminary plan to develop 162 single-family lots on 45.46 acres, 11.93 acres of rights-of-way and 3.8 acres of open space for drainage and utility purposes. The PUD site is adjacent to Rex Road, east of Meridian Road and is within the boundaries of the Falcon/Peyton Small Area Master Plan.
