Meridian Ranch Filing 11BThe El Paso County Board of County Commissioners heard a request from GTL Development LLC for the final plat of 19.35 acres in the Meridian Ranch subdivision. The final plat will create 82 single-family lots, rights-of-way and open-space tracts.The commissioners approved the request.Highway 94 and Corral Valley Commercial Mobile Radio Service FacilityThe BOCC heard a request for a variance of use by Nathan Norby and Banning Lewis Ranch LLC for a commercial mobile radio service facility to allow a new 100-foot freestanding monopole tower on the property located about 1 mile south of Highway 94 and about 2 miles east of Marksheffel Road. The property is zoned residential rural.The commissioners approved the request.Shops at Meridian RanchAt the corner of Meridian Road and Stapleton Road, GTL is in the early stages of construction on an 1,800-square-foot building for office space, a 9,500-square-foot building for retail space and another 10,500-square-foot building for future businesses, said Doug Woods, vice president of GTL. ìWeíll have roughly 20,000 square feet of retail space in the first phase of construction, which should start in March or April of this year,î he said.While there has been interest in the soon-to-be-constructed spaces, no official contracts have been signed, Woods said.ìWe do have a liquor store and a restaurant as strong possibilities,î he said. ìWeíre very close to having signed leases on those two. There has been a lot of ancillary interest; for instance, weíve had a day care and a gas station call and ask about the property. So, our brokers tell us that we got a call from them; so far, thereís only the two strong possibilities.î
