Fox Run Nature Center
The El Paso County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved an amendment and change order to TDG Architecture Inc. for project management, preliminary design and construction documents’ services for the Fox Run Nature Center for $66,555.
Sterling Ranch subdivision
The commissioners unanimously approved the first amended and restated development agreement for Sterling Ranch to provide additional time for the developer to acquire a letter of map revision from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The county commissioners also unanimously approved preliminary acceptance of certain streets within Sterling Ranch Filing No. 3. The public improvements have been completed and inspected.
Eagle Rising subdivision
The BOCC unanimously approved a request by Casas Limited Partnership No. 4 and IQ Investors LLC for the third two-year extension to record the first final plat within the Eagle Rising preliminary plan boundary. The 70.97-acre property is zoned residential rural-2.5 and located about 0.5 miles east of Black Forest Road, immediately north of the anticipated Briargate Parkway eastern extension. The new expiration date of the preliminary plan is Nov. 14, 2026.
Rex Road and Meridian Ranch intersection
The commissioners unanimously approved a memorandum of agreement, permanent easement agreements, and temporary easement agreements from property owned by Meridian Service Metropolitan District for $27,900 regarding the Rex Road and Meridian Road intersection improvements project.
Owl Place
According to a November article in The Gazette, Whataburger is coming to Falcon — to Owl Place. BurgerWorks Colorado, the franchisee, would like to expand the burger chain to fast-growing Falcon. There are already seven Whataburger restaurants in Colorado Springs.
Owl Marketplace is northeast of the new Falcon Marketplace shopping center, where King Soopers is the site anchor, at Meridian and Woodmen roads.
According to the El Paso County Electronic Development Application Review Program, Starbucks has proposed a drive-thru with associated parking, drive-aisles and landscaping for Owl Marketplace.
A Gas Station & Convenience Store has also filed an application with the EDARP for Owl Place.
There are quite a bit of hoops to jump through related to the development of Owl Marketplace so the NFH will try to keep an eye on things.
