Rex Road at Meridian Road Intersection ProjectThe El Paso County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved the second change order request for AECOM Technical Services Inc. for civil engineering design services for the Rex Road at Meridian Road intersection project for $78,3100. Those design services include property acquisition support, final construction documents and interim signal design services. The original contract amount was $291,195 and the first change order request was for $333,100, bringing the project total to $702,605.Homestead Ranch Regional Park Master PlanThe county commissioners unanimously approved the Homestead Ranch Regional Park Master Plan, which provides an overview of the property including its history, existing conditions, site analysis, project goals, recommended improvements and implementation of Phase I and Future Phase Improvements with cost estimates. The 450-acre regional park is located on the edge of Black Forest at 16444 Gollihar Road and includes a playground, a playing field, picnic pavilions and 3 miles of trails throughout the park. The Phase I plan implementation will be funded through Capital Improvement Funds and Regional Park Fees.Homestead at Sterling Ranch subdivisionThe BOCC unanimously approved the preliminary acceptance of certain streets within the Homestead at Sterling Ranch Filing No. 1 subdivision into the county road maintenance system. All improvements have been completed and inspected.Black Forest RoadThe county commissioners unanimously approved a resolution to grant a quitclaim deed from EPC to the city of Colorado Springs for a portion of Black Forest Road from Adventure Way to Old Ranch Road. The resolution transfers any portions of the Black Forest Road area currently owned by the county, prior to formal annexation, to provide improved ingress and egress to that area.Donald A. Watkins and Donald A. Watkins Jr. exemption platsThe BOCC unanimously approved a request by Colorado Springs Utilities to vacate the Donald A. Watkins and Donald A. Watkins Jr. exemption plats, located on the north side of Meridian Road, about 0.5 miles south of Blaney Road and measuring 20.152 acres and 45 acres, respectively. In 2004, the properties were conveyed to CSU to construct a water reservoir, which would have been known as Jimmy Camp Creek Reservoir. In 2017, CSU formally announced that the reservoir was no longer needed, and wished to convey the land back to the original property owners.Prairie Ridge subdivisionThe commissioners unanimously approved a request by Clovis Point Co LLC for an escrow agreement for the Prairie Ridge Filing No. 1 subdivision. The 39.77-acre property is located on the east side of Brown Road, about 0.5 miles north of the Brown Road and Walker Road intersection and zoned residential rural-5.Sterling Ranch subdivisionThe BOCC unanimously approved the final release of funds plus accrued interest for Sterling Ranch Phase 2 early grading and utilities for $169,948.05. All improvements have been completed and inspected.
