Buffalo Grass Acoustic Society is a local society that presents acoustic music in the winter months from September through May.† The group meets on the third Friday at the Cowboy Church of Peyton, 15540 Bradshaw Road (1 mile north of Murphy Road), and families are encouraged to attend.† For those who play instruments, an open jam session begins at 5:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m. Concerts include two open-stage performers followed by a featured act.† Refreshments are available and the cost is $5 for general admission, $3 for members and kids under 16 get in free.The last concert of the season is May 17. Featured is Liz Masterson, an award-winning true legend of western music ñ and a Denver native. She started singing in 1982 and blazed a trail as she revived this genre of music. Masterson is also a founding member of the Western Music Association. She has been dubbed the ìSongbird of the Saga,î and has played at prestigious venues like the Smithsonian Institute, the Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center and the National Cowboy Poetry gathering in Nevada.After this concert, Buffalo Grass will take a summer break and resume in September.Call 719-494-0666 or visit http://buffalograssacoustic.org/ for more information.
