D 49 news release Feb. 24
Deb Schmidt, a member of the School District 49 Board of Education serving District 2, announced her resignation Feb. 24, to honor commitments to her family. Ms. Schmidt has held the position since her successful election in 2023. The BOE is grateful for her dedicated service to the D 49 community. A special meeting was scheduled Feb. 25 to declare the vacancy in district 2. Information regarding the application process required to fill the open position will be available once the vacancy has been declared. We will provide updates on the search for Ms. Schmidt’s replacement on our regular communication channels.
