Black Rose Acoustic Society, founded in 1993 is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to education, enjoyment, performance and preservation of all types of traditional acoustic music in the Pikes Peak region. Their first album, Common Ground, was ranked No. 3 on the bluegrass charts in 1998. Their next album, 2002’s Come Along With Me, reached ninth on the Bluegrass Unlimited chart, with one of its songs reaching No. 2 on the singles chart. Guitarist and singer Junior Sisk has been nominated several times as the International Bluegrass Music Association’s “Male Vocalist of the Year.” BlueRidge’s music has its roots in North Carolina, Virginia and the considerable talents of its members.Opening acts start at 7:30 p.m. at the Black Forest Community Center, 12530 Black Forest Road (at Shoup Road), $5 general public, $3 Black Rose Acoustic Society members.
