Black Forest tidbits

  • The Black Rose Acoustic Society will host Patty Larkin March 20 at Ivywild School, 1604 S. Cascade Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $15 for members, and $20 for non-members.
  • The Black Forest Trails Association is planning on continuing cleanup and restoration projects from the Black Forest fire throughout 2014. Check their website at http://blackforesttrails.org for updates and more information.
  • The Educational Opportunity Foundation of Black Forest is accepting scholarship applications through March 3. The application is available at http://blackforesteof.com and at Falcon High School counselorís office.
  • Black Forest Together offers a discount card for Black Forest and Falcon residents. Zip codes eligible for discounts from various businesses include 80908, 80106, 80132 or 80831. For a complete listing of businesses, visit http://blackforesttogether.org. The discounts expire in December.
  • Crosses for Losses has art on its walls at the main location off Shoup and Black Forest roads. Local artist John Patterson has donated the artwork, and the money from the sales go directly to the nonprofit. More of Pattersonís work can be viewed at R&R Coffee CafÈ.
