The Black Forest Community Club will hold its annual Black Forest Festival Aug. 14. Kicking off the festival is a pancake breakfast at 6:30 a.m.; the parade starts at 10:30 a.m., and Jon Karroll from KRDO TV is the parade announcer.”Another enjoyable festival is just about upon us,” said Eddie Bracken, festival chairman. “We have something for the whole family. Our theme is ‘Everyone in the Forest is Family’ and we’d like those who attend to feel the same way.”The festival features the U.S. Air Force Academy “Blue Steel,” an acclaimed contemporary music group; pop music, classic rock, country music and original compositions.The festival also offers a flea market, food and other booths, games for the kids and surprises.Hours of the festival are 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.The committee has arranged off-site parking and shuttle service. Parking is located at the gravel lot on the northeast corner of Burgess and Black Forest roads. A continuous shuttle service from the lot to the event will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Close-in parking is available at the Lutheran Church, the LDS Church and the gravel lot on the southwest corner of Shoup and Black Forest roads.
