The crowds came out for the 2013 Black Forest Festival. A big favorite with the onlookers was the parade, where a Black Hawk helicopter that assisted with the Black Forest fire flew just above treeline, to the spectatorsí delight. The parade also included horses from the Kit Carson Riding Club, the JROTC from Falcon High School, cadets from the U.S. Air Force Academy and much more.Chris Laclair, Black Forest resident and owner of Chris Works Custom Sewing and Embroidery, said, as a long-time festival supporter, the 2013 festival appeared to be even more special because of the fire.Plenty of fair food was available, from kettle corn to hamburgers. Vendors offered a variety of wares and services. Visitors could stop by the ìAsk a Lawyerî booth or swing by the petting zoo.
Big turn out for Black Forest Festival
