The Black Forest AARP Chapter 1100 food drive kicks off Sept. 7 and runs through Sept. 15. The drive coincides with the the Day of Service and Remembrance that came out of the terrorist attacks Sept. 11, 2001.Citizens are encouraged to perform good deeds or engage in forms of charitable services during the week of 9/11 to rekindle the spirit of unity, service and compassion.Non-perishable food and cash donations can be dropped off with the following merchants.Black Forest Fire Rescue; Black Forest Jeweler; Black Forest Pies and Grinders, Firehouse on the Run, Nizhomi Health Center; Black Forest Postal and Convenience store; Papaís Assisted Living, R&R Coffee and CafÈ; Rockiní B Feed; Colorado Cats; Black Forest Liquor, Paws n Tails Hydrotherapy Pool.All donations will go to Black Forest Cares.
