Dear Editor:The Falcon Incorporation Committee had a well-attended meeting on Jan. 22. There was discussion about the possibility of Colorado Springs doing some annexation due to sales tax from Falcon businesses. Someone commented the Incorporation Committee was scaring people by saying that possibility. Well, that possibility doesnít scare me. What scares me is what the county commissioners might do to the rest of Falcon. Remember the 5,700 houses they approved on 6,000 acres at Judge Road and Curtis? We all would be impacted by the possibility of 10,000 more cars in our business area. The county commissioners obviously donít care about Falcon remaining a ìruralî area. Just look at their approval of the road system in the PUD (planned unit development) of Walmart and Safeway. Look at the density the county has approved in Falcon. Itís quite clear they approve anything developers ask for.Local control with incorporation means we would elect local council members that share our views. Local control means public meetings in Falcon where local citizens can speak out on issues. Not many locals go to county meetings and the far away commissioners do what they want. They donít hear very much from Falcon locals. Letís stop the ruinous overbuilding of Falcon. Letís get local control.June FieldFalcon, Colorado
