Falcon is home to another new coffee shop. Dick and Jody Stratford opened Espresso’s on Jan. 8 a few doors down from Mancino’s at 7654 McLaughlin Rd. Enjoy a lattÈ or hot cocoa by the fire. Read The New Falcon Herald as you lounge on a sofa or bring your lap top and hook up to the Internet via the shop’s wireless connection. One unique item found in Espresso’s is the Kolache, a treat from southern Maine, Dick Stratford said. A kolache is a sausage, egg and cheese or bacon, egg and cheese wrap (wrapped in dough) – the perfect breakfast treat and one that you can easily take on the road, Jody Stratford said. Other pastries are available for your morning or afternoon snack along with a full menu of coffee drinks and cold drinks as well. The Stratfords are supporting Colorado businesses by serving Serrano’s coffee. Serrano’s is located in Monument, Colo., and Jody Stratford said, “It’s the best coffee around.” Both said business is good so far and to further entice Falconites, they will be adding a couple special ongoing events. Starting in February, Espresso’s will offer an afternoon English teatime on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Wednesday mornings, the coffee shop will sponsor a 30-minute story time for pre-school children. Moms or dads must pre-register – call 494-8595.There is a 10 percent discount for all Curves members. And the coffee shop is available after hours for party or meeting rentals. Book clubs are invited to check out Espresso’s, too.And for your coffee-drinking Valentine, Espresso’s offers an assortment of giftware.Jody and Dick live in Falcon and invite everyone to join them at what Jody referred to as Falcon’s latest “family-friendly” coffee house. Espresso’s is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed on Sundays.
