AJ Clipper Handz Barbershop has moved from its Rio Lane location of more than two years to 7358 McLaughlin Road, providing owner AJ McDaugale with the space needed to accommodate a growing clientele.McDaugale started cutting hair in high school when he and his friends took turns taking the scissors to each otherís hair.He said he worked in construction until he decided to attend barber school and become licensed. That was 13 years ago; since then, he has worked in Leadville, where he was born and raised, Denver and Falcon. He chose to open his business in Falcon because of the combination of area growth and the ìsmall town vibe, almost a piece of home,î McDaugale said. Although he and his family live in Colorado Springs, their goal is to buy a home in Falcon. The new space has allowed McDaugale to hire an additional experienced barber. They specialize in menís hair, although they also cut womenís hair. They offer straight-razor haircuts and do gentleman cuts, kid cuts, beard trims, full-face shaves and color enhancements. McDaugale said they are highly skilled at razor/skin fades. The barbershop caters to ìpeople who really care about their haircuts,î he said. ìWe try to set ourselves apart by offering high-end service.î Itís not unusual to spend 45 minutes with a client, McDaugale said. ìWe think itís important to take extra time to pay attention to the details and get to know our client.îWalk-ins are welcome and appointments can be made online at https://bookedin.com/book/aj-clipper-handz-barbershop or by calling 719-301-4754.
