Artist makes good use of burnt wood

After the fire swept through Black Forest in 2013, for most residents, the only thing left was a cluster of blackened pine trees. In the rebuilding process, one resident decided not to let her burnt trees go to waste.† A local builder recommended that reclaimed wood artist, Josh Mabe, use the charred logs to create new pieces for her rebuilt home.Mabe and his crew cut down the burnt trees, milled the logs, and created bathroom vanities and a centerpiece bar top with the reclaimed pines that used to tower over the property.†It was emotional for the client to see the pieces on display in her new home. The blackened logs were all she had left when the fire swept through, now they grace her new home with beauty and hope.
