For most of his 20 years experience in photography, Randy Linblad worked for private collectors. After he was diagnosed with cancer three years ago, Linblad launched Echo-n-Time Photography and changed his focus to make his work more available and affordable. His collection of photographs depicting the eastern plains is now on display at The Emporium on McLaughlin Road in Falcon.Linblad and his wife Jacquilne, also the marketing manager for Echo-n-Time, and their two children live on a ranch east of Falcon. Jacquilne Linblad said her husband focuses his photography on the historic buildings and locations in the area. He also shoots landscapes, horses and portraits, she said. And they offer portrait packages for high school seniors.”Randy avoids tourist sites like Garden of the Gods and finds scenes off the beaten path.” Linblad said. Echo-n-Time Photography has captured the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Pueblo, the Calhan Paint Mines and other eastern El Paso County treasures, like the county fair.Diane Vigent, owner of The Emporium, said Linblad’s work is remarkable. Her store offers an eclectic mix of collectables, antiques, jewelry and embroidered clothing. The addition of the photography adds elegance to the store, Vigent said.Randy Linblad’s photographs are matted and framed and the prices range from $49 to $110, Jacquilne Linblad said.”We can do anything a big chain can, but at a fraction of the cost,” she said. “Everyone likes art; it’s just a question of whether they can purchase it.”We really want to bring value back to photography.”Visit www.echontime.com to view the photos.
