School is back in session, which means it is time for high school football. Falcon School District 49 kicked off the season Aug. 29.The Falcons opened their season against the reigning state champs, Pine Creek. Falcon High School lost some great talent this year, including star two-way player Kalen Ballage.Sand Creek High School will open their season on the road against Palmer Ridge, hoping to replicate their 5-0 start from last year.The Vista Ridge Wolves play Northglenn Aug. 29 to start their season, and they hope to bounce back from a dismal season last year.The highest ranked team in D 49 this year is Falcon High School, starting the season ranked 33rd in Colorado. The second ranked team is Vista at No. 51, followed by Sand Creek at No. 75. While none of the teams are front runners for the playoffs, with the amount of new players on each squad; anything could happen.
