American Medical Response, the ambulance service for El Paso County, received the 2006 “National EMT-Paramedic Emergency Medical Service of the Year” award from the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. “AMR is an important community partner and it provides excellent life support ambulances to our community and by receiving this award, AMR brings great honor to our county and to our highly successful Emergency Medical Services System,” said Dennis Hisey, El Paso County commissioner and member of the Emergency Services Agency board.The award was based on AMR’s clinical excellence, advanced medical skills and its state-of-the-art equipment. AMR was recognized for its innovative low-cost services and for en gratis coverage for nonprofit organizations.
