On Aug. 15, the American Legion Dane R. Balcon Post 2008 will host the Second Annual Golf Event at the Antler Creek Golf Course. The event is held to raise funds for the various local community activities Post 2008 supports. This event also honors our veterans, past and present, for their service to our country. It is open to the public, active duty military and retired military. The format will be a four-person scramble, shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., followed by an awards luncheon at the Creek View Grill. The cost per player is $75. To participate, pre-registration is required by Aug. 9. Post 2008 would also appreciate the support of any local businesses that would sponsor a tee box on one of the 18 holes.
