More than 40 World War II aircraft will be on display and in the air at the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow Aug. 9 and Aug. 10 at the Colorado Springs Airport. The two-day event includes aerobatic performers, static displays of aircraft and the U.S. Air Force Wings of Blue Parachute team. The show will also host a traveling exhibit honoring the Tuskegee Airmen, Americaís first black military pilots.Advance tickets are available at http://pprairshow.org, or tickets can be purchased at the gate (cash only). Details, activity schedules and directions can be found on the website.Proceeds from the air show will benefit the Colorado Springs National Museum of World War II Aviation (http://worldwariiaviation.org/) and the Peterson Air & Space Museum. The National Museum of World War II Aviation uses its collection of artifacts and vintage aircraft to educate visitors about the historical importance of American aviation in World War II.
