The Black Forest AARP Chapter No. 1100 honored Charles and Shirley Karlstrum at the May meeting by presenting them with the AARP Community Service Award. The Karlstrums were chapter leaders during 2011 for projects that included nonperishable food collection and monetary donations to area food banks; the chapterís free shredding event; and distributing wellness and personal safety literature at area expos and health fairs.
