At the May meeting of the Black Forest AARP Chapter, Ray and Lin Rozak received the prestigious 2013 AARP Chapter and REA Unit Community Service Award, which included a framed certificate, distinctive lapel pins and a congratulatory letter signed by the AARP president, Rob Romasco, and Allison Barry Rand, AARP chief executive officer. The Rozaks were recognized for their sustained exemplary service to the Black Forest chapter and the Black Forest community. Their contributions include organizing and managing a free document shredding and food-collection event over the last four years. They also planned a chapter assistance project that moved senior home residents to a new facility, and they led an effort to help clean up the Flying W Ranch after the 2012 Waldo Canyon fire. To a large extent, the work of the Rozaks has resulted in the Black Forest AARP Chapterís designation as the most outstanding AARP chapter in Colorado for community service ñ four years in a row.
