A new martial arts camp in Falcon

Britt Baugh is heading up a new martial arts camp program this summer in Falcon. School District 49 is providing space at one of the schools in support of this opportunity for Falcon and surrounding area kids and teens.Baugh is a 7th Degree Black Belt and has been training and instructing in the martial arts for 32 years. He also has taught martial arts at D 49 for the last nine years and has spent 28 years total teaching in other area school districts.For the past 15 years, Baugh has been an honorarium instructor for the martial arts and self-defense accredited classes at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.And he has worked with the Missing and Exploited Children Comprehensive Action Program – M/CAP, which works side by side with law enforcement agencies throughout the United States to help missing and exploited children.Baugh has worked with the Colorado Springs Police Department and other community service agencies with M/CAP.He is a staunch advocate of children and said the martial arts camps will provide Falcon and the surrounding communities with a new type of summer camp that has never been offered before. “The camps will focus on educating the students in the arts of karate, judo, aikido, kendo (Japanese sword training),” he said. Baugh is the instructor.The camps are open to ages 6 to 17 years, regardless of athletic ability or experience. Each participant will receive a free uniform.”The students will be learning, training and having fun,” Baugh said. “They will also be able to show what they have learned at the end of the week by putting on a demonstration for their parents and friends, and they will have the opportunity to test for a belt at the end of the week. We think this is a great opportunity for the kids this summer.”REGISTRATION INFORMATIONRegister by MAY 20 and get a special rate.
