  Chamber news
By Larry Sparks Six and Geving Insurance; secretary of the EPCC

The Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce held its March meeting at Grace Community Church in Falcon. Twenty-three local business owners and leaders attended the meeting, which focused on a presentation by the American Legion. Chip Kassow, senior vice commander of the Legion, along with Sharon Wickliff, Dana Ware, Chet Deshner and CJ Baker, outlined the century of service by the Legion. The primary function of this great organization is to support veterans. Historically, the Legion honored veterans at funerals, drafted legislation for the GI Bill and set up rules on the proper treatment of the flag. They sponsor youth education regarding the Constitution and educate on the proper role of government. Within the Falcon community, they support the Fresh Start food pantry.

The chamber is committed to presenting programs that support and educate the membership. The Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce meets the first Wednesday of each month, from 7 to 8:30 a.m., at Grace Community Church, 9475 Grace Church View in Falcon. Everyone who is interested in growing the business environment on the eastern plains is welcome to attend.
