Volume No. 18 Issue No. 4 April 2021

  Be careful with outdoor fires

This month's fire safety tip is from firefighter/paramedic Yusuf Ghodgeri. He started with the Falcon Fire Protection District as a reserve in 2016 and became a full-time firefighter in 2019. Ghodgeri was a firefighter at first and then became a paramedic because he said he wanted to learn what to do in an emergency and be able to help everyone he could. He is single and has two part-time jobs to occupy his off-duty hours.

April Fire Safety Tip: Keep your lawn free of debris and leaves. Make sure outdoor fire pits meet El Paso County requirements, and for any outdoor burning get a burn permit from the sheriff's office by calling 719-390-5555.
