  Meridian Ranch Center events

     Ongoing Active Older Adult classes
   AOA — 11 a.m.: Use of a chair for sitting and standing support. The class will lift hand-held weights and utilize the stretch band and small exercise balls for strength.
   Hatha (gentle) Yoga: 1 p.m.: A gentle stretching/deep breathing class standing on the floor with a mat
   AOA 2: —10 a.m.: Increasing the heart rate plus strength training with the workout equipment. Some floor exercises are available if attendees are interested.
   Seated/standing yoga —11 a.m.: Seated and standing yoga poses with assistance from a chair
   Strength and balance — 1 p.m.: Core and lower body strength for better balance; a chair is also provided for assistance. Exercises for better balance include moves and poses such as standing on one leg, walking one foot in front of the other, lunges, etc.
   Zumba: Tuesday at 5 p.m. and Friday at 11 a.m.
   Pickle ball every Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m., for advanced players;
   6 to 8 p.m. for new/beginner players
   October events
   10/26: Trunk or Treat, 1-4 p.m; free event: If a business or a family wants to
   participate and decorate their car and hand out candy, they need to sign up at the recreation center. During the trunk or treat, kids can go to different cars and get candy. There will also be a pie bakeoff so sign up at the recreation center or bring a pie on Oct. 26. The pie with the most votes will be awarded with a prize.
   10/11: Fly Swatter volleyball, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
   10/18: Parents Night Out — 5 to 10 p.m.
   10/19: Flick N float; 6 to 8 p.m. — “Nightmare before Christmas”
   AOA events
   Pinochle: First and second Thursday of each month: 12:30 p.m.
   Dominoes/Mexican Train: second and fourth Thursday of each month at 12:30 p.m.
