Whitewater rafting and fly fishing are two of the most popular sports in the spring and summer in Colorado. Rivers in Colorado are not only vehicles of recreation; they are also important sources of water.

The Colorado River was nicknamed the River of Law because of all the legal disputes that have involved the flow of the river and its water over the years. It is now one of the most highly controlled rivers in the world.

The Colorado River supplies water to more than 25 million people and irrigates 3.5 million acres of farmland.

The Colorado River is home to one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon.

The three longest rivers in Colorado are the Rio Grande at 1,900 miles; the Arkansas at 1,470 miles and the Colorado River at 1,450 miles.

There are 11 U.S. national parks along the Colorado River.
