According to a news release, last year the Curves Food Drive collected 10.6 million pounds of food for local communities all over the world. To celebrate the generosity of the community, Curves is waiving its normal service fee for any new member who brings in a bag of non-perishable groceries and joins between Feb. 27 and March 11. Last year, more than 251,000 new members joined Curves during the food drive.Anyone interested in joining or others who want to donate food items should visit the Calhan Curves Monday through Saturday in March.”The Curves Food Drive promotion is always exciting,” said Caroline Jerman, the owner of the Calhan club. “We have a chance to help so many people at a time when the food banks are lowest, while we assist more women in reaching their fitness and weight loss goals. It’s a win-win situation for everyone, and we’re very proud to participate.”The Calhan Curves is at 1,000 5th St. Call 347-3061 for more information.
