First tree lighting celebration is Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at Woodmen Hills Community Center west – 11720 Woodmen Hills Dr. The newly crowned Mrs. Colorado U.S., Sunshine Yates, will officially light the tree. Woodmen Hills Elementary and Meridian Ranch Elementary choirs will perform as well. Join the free festivity and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies. A big thanks to Colorado Tree Farm and Nursery for donating the beautiful live tree.Santa Claus is coming to Antler Creek Golf Course on Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 9650 Antler Creek Drive. Santa and Mrs. Claus will hear all the holiday requests and wishes. Patty Watkins from Inspired Images will snap photos from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and they will be available for a reasonable price. Horse-drawn carriage rides, crafts, holiday tattoos and a surprise gift from Santa will round out the day’s events.The Woodmen Hills Recreation Center east (9250 Meridian Ranch Blvd.) is hosting a Jolly Jump & Swim on Dec. 10, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Kids are invited to join in and swim and have fun on the inflatables. For admission, please bring a new unwrapped toy (for the toy drive) or a non-perishable food items (for the local food drive).Join Santa, the Falcon Fire Department, your neighbors and friends for caroling and a toy drive at the Antler Creek Golf Course on Dec. 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The carolers will make their way through the neighborhood on decorated trailers, and we’ll be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the News 13/Peak 95.1 Toy Drive as we go along; anyone can drop off toys at the Woodmen Recreation Center east and west or the Meridian Ranch Recreation Center or select businesses in Falcon.Don’t forget the “Holiday Food Drive” through Dec. 16. Give a little this year and help support the needy in our community.
