Falcon Youth Football recruiting for fall season

Falcon Youth Football Club is recruiting football players for the upcoming fall season. Boys and girls in second through sixth grades living in Falcon School District 49 are invited to play full tackle football in two age divisions. Practices will be held three days per week beginning Aug. 15.The games, which will be played on Saturdays in the Falcon area, will begin Sept. 10. The season ends with a tournament including all teams.Falcon Youth Football Club is a learning league that relies on volunteers as coaches, assistant coaches and team managers to staff its 12-plus teams. Dave Matteson, director, said, “We want the kids to play with their peers, kids on their same street and kids they go to school with.”The cost is $95 and a helmet is required. All other equipment will be provided. Games will be played on Saturdays in the Falcon, Peyton and Elbert areas. Basic knowledge of high school football rules, a minimum age of 16 and reliable transportation are all required.
