Sergeant Lawrence Holmes thought it was a practical joke when an “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” event coordinator called him wanting a limousine for the ABC show.”I thought someone was playing me,” he said. Holmes has owned Allendac Limousines for two years. He drove the Lincoln Navigator limousine that escorted the Barrett family to and from the airport during the demolition and rebuilding of their Peyton farmhouse.Holmes said he was with the “Extreme Makeover” crew for most of the week. Witnessing the transformation is a lot different than watching it on television, he said. “The show only covers about 20 percent of what really happens.”He was impressed with the new home and said, “It was fabulous.””They couldn’t wait to get home,” said Holmes of the Barrett family, “The family was ecstatic.”
