4-H and Wendy’s partnered for a pre-opening celebration

On Jan. 23, the new Wendy’s in Falcon held a VIP opening and invited El Paso County 4-H members and their families to enjoy a delicious meal. Wendy’s presented the 4-H group a check for $1,225 as a thank you for the partnership at the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Jan. 24. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Monday, January 24. Wendy’s is located at 7525 McLaughlin Rd.Since the beginning of 4-H in Colorado in 1920, 4-H has served all youth from rural to urban, low income to upper income, but the focus has always been on the child in need.Members range from age 5 to 18, and come from all over the county, from Rush to the Springs to Black Forest to Falcon. They develop skills, leadership techniques, citizenship qualities and sound management practices through completion each year of one or more of the 129 projects offered in agriculture, home economics, engineering, natural resources and related fields and through participation in 4-H club meetings, activities and events.4-H is a local, state and national youth program carried out under the guidance of the Federal Extension Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Colorado State University and the El Paso County Extension Service.
